Well Christmas 2008 has come and gone but the remainders of the event are still left behind. Memories of a good celebration and hopes of more to be.
Our three daughthers; Cheron, Rachel, and Sarah, along with 8 of the 9 grandchildren were here. Joseph is in Washington with a foot of snow and a mother in law. He loves her but I had to have the joke about mother in laws here somewhere. After all their were a few folks here that were at their mother in law's too. Hmmm - imagine that he went to her mothers. :) It was a house full.
We had a big ham for dinner; 22 pounds of porky deliciousness. It's all gone now.
Geveryl Robinson in her Sunday, December 21, 2008 Savannah Morning News opinion column wrote that Christmas should not be a holiday. "The point I was making to my friend is if we really understood the true meaning of Christmas, if we really took that day to reflect on the life and the acts of Christ, then we'd all realize that Christmas should not be a holiday; it should be a way of life."
