Count your blessings

Count your blessings - name them one by one.

A friend today was very somber. His unit has just had it's 10th death this year in operations overseas.

Another friend was heading up the highway - to visit his son who is in a rehab center and has been there for over a year for drug addictions and related crimes.

A friends husband has a mass in his brain that is totally inoperable. Luckily is is indolent and grows very slowly.

Two colleagues last week were given unfortunate news - one has already had surgery and is starting chemo this week for breast cancer and the other has a mass in her panaceas and has to have surgery.

My daughter has been experiencing pain for weeks in her jaw and finally went to see a doctor. Being uninsured she went to a federal health clinic, waited 8 hours, and was given Motrin.

My other daughter has just had her husband deploy to Iraq - for the fourth time. And his father has recently started having seizures.

A lady I know is willing to suffer the emotional rollar coaster, massive vomiting, and all the rest of the side effects of pregnancy to bring a child into her family.

There is no one who is without needs.
We need each other.
I cannot imagine travelling through this life alone.

I count my blessings.
And there names are Debbie, Kristen, James, Dad, Mom, Linda, Melanie, ....
