It is always man who seems to ask why, we want answers, explanations. It is not enough to accept things as the are, to just realize that they happen because He is aware of you, He knows what you need.
We are told to knock, ask, and receive. Of course we have to make the effort; we must knock.
Small voices, counsel of friends, comments seemingly unconnected to our needs spoken by people we do not know.
But we always want to find a non spiritual answer to things. I wonder if Job or Enoch or any of the Old Testament prophets ever had to worry about explanations. If they had the knowledge of modern man, would it have clouded and interfereed with the mystery of God? If, today, we had angels appear to us and teach us would we be as reluctant to believe? Would our modern lives reject the visits? Would we even recognize the visit? Would we hear the still small voice. ?
Are we so busy avoiding the wind, watching the earthquake, and worrying about the fire that we miss the voice?
I wonder sometimes. I worry that I am not listening. I worry that He does not talk to me.
Maybe I should be more worried about why I think this way because I know He talks.
(I wonder how much I have missed.)
